How long will there be a missing tooth after placing the implant?
After placing an implant, it is preferable to observe a healing period without “loading” the implant, which must be integrated into the bone. This period is ideally 2-3 months in the upper jaw and 3-4 months in the lower jaw. During this period, you will have the possibility of having a temporary resin artificial tooth to mask the hole corresponding to the missing teeth.
If you have had a bone graft, then the integration period can be longer.
In rare cases (to be discussed directly with the maxillofacial surgeon), it is possible to fix a crown on the implant in the same session as the surgery, but there is more risk of implant failure in these situations.
